Martin Delany Publishes Founding Text of Black Nationalism

Martin R. Delany published 'The Condition, Elevation, Emigration, and Destiny of the Colored People of the United States' — the founding text of Black nationalist thought in America. Delany argued Black people could never achieve equality in the US and should seek their own nation, establishing the intellectual framework for later Pan-Africanism.
