James McCune Smith Publishes Statistical Refutation of Scientific Racism

Dr. James McCune Smith published statistical analyses in Frederick Douglass' Paper demolishing Samuel Morton's and Josiah Nott's claims of Black inferiority, using their own census data against them. Smith exposed methodological fraud in pro-slavery science, becoming the first Black American to produce peer-quality statistical social science.
