Paul Laurence Dunbar Publishes 'Lyrics of Love and Laughter'

Dunbar's poetry collection continued his exploration of Black dialect verse and standard English poetry, drawing large audiences of both Black and white readers and cementing his legacy as America's first widely celebrated Black poet.
