Black Collegiate Women's Organizations Form at HBCUs

Black women at Howard University and other HBCUs organized literary and social clubs in the early 1900s that directly preceded the founding of the first Black Greek-letter sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, in 1908, building networks for Black women's professional leadership.
