NAACP Launches Systematic Anti-Lynching Documentation Campaign
The NAACP began systematically documenting and publicizing every lynching in America, publishing annual reports that named victims and perpetrators. This campaign, driven in part by W.E.B. Du Bois and Ida B. Wells, created a public record that challenged official silence and laid the groundwork for Congressional anti-lynching legislation efforts throughout the 1910s and beyond.
