Carter G. Woodson Founds Association for the Study of Negro Life and History
Carter G. Woodson, along with Jesse E. Moorland and others, established the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH) in Chicago. The organization pioneered the systematic scholarly study and preservation of African American history, laying the foundation for Black History Month and transforming how American history was researched and taught.
