Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Expands Beyond Indiana
Kappa Alpha Psi, founded at Indiana University in 1911 as the first Black Greek organization founded at a predominantly white Midwestern state university, established chapters across the country by the mid-1910s. The fraternity's motto of 'Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor' reflected its focus on professional excellence in a range of disciplines.
