UNIA Convention Ratifies Declaration of Rights of the Negro Peoples of the World

At the UNIA's August 1920 convention, delegates ratified a 54-article document asserting political, economic, and cultural rights for Black people globally. Drafted primarily by Marcus Garvey, it called for an end to racial discrimination, the right to self-determination, and the return of Africa to African peoples. It stands as one of the most ambitious political documents in Black liberation history.
