Noble Sissle Leads International Touring Orchestra

Noble Sissle's Society Orchestra toured extensively in Europe and America through the 1930s, playing high society venues and introducing Black American jazz and popular song to elite international audiences. Sissle was among the first Black bandleaders to lead a racially integrated ensemble.
