Cornelius Coffey and John Robinson Establish Black Aviation in Chicago

Coffey and Robinson overcame racial exclusion from white flying clubs to earn their pilot's licenses and establish the Challenger Air Pilots' Association in Chicago, laying the organizational and training foundation that would eventually produce the Tuskegee Airmen program a decade later.
