Eddie Tolan Wins Two Sprint Golds at 1932 Los Angeles Olympics

Detroit's Eddie Tolan won the 100m and 200m sprints at the Los Angeles Olympics, becoming the first Black athlete to hold both sprint titles simultaneously. Known as the Midnight Express, Tolan's victories received far less press than those of white athletes despite being the Games' top sprinter.
