Paul Robeson Stars in The Emperor Jones

Robeson's portrayal of the self-made Caribbean dictator Brutus Jones in this adaptation of Eugene O'Neill's play marked one of the first times a Black actor carried a major Hollywood film in a complex, powerful role.
