Roger Arliner Young Publishes Marine Biology Research

Young, who had become the first Black woman to hold a professional position in zoology in the US, published research on paramecia and salt concentration in marine organisms under Just's mentorship at Howard and in Woods Hole. Her work was significant despite the near-total exclusion of Black women from American academic science.
