Paul Robeson Becomes Leading Anti-Fascist Voice and Spanish Civil War Supporter

Robeson visited Spain during the Civil War to perform for International Brigade soldiers including Black Americans, and became one of the most prominent American voices linking Black liberation with anti-fascism. His political commitments brought him into increasing conflict with American authorities.
