Jacob Lawrence's Migration Series completes national tour

Jacob Lawrence's Migration Series completed its two-year national circulating exhibition tour in 1944, having shown at museums and galleries across the country since 1942. The exhibition brought the story of the Great Migration to mainstream audiences nationwide and established Lawrence, then in his mid-twenties, as the most prominent Black visual artist working in America.
