Milt Campbell Wins Olympic Decathlon Gold

Milt Campbell won the Olympic decathlon gold medal at the 1956 Melbourne Games, becoming the second Black athlete to win the event. Campbell, who had previously won a silver medal in Helsinki, demonstrated the tradition of Black excellence in the demanding all-around athletic event.
