16th Street Baptist Church Bombing Kills Four Girls

KKK members bombed the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, killing Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson, and Carol Denise McNair. The murders of four children in a church shocked the nation and accelerated Congressional action on civil rights.
