Mary Jackson Recognized as NASA's First Black Female Engineer

Jackson successfully petitioned to attend advanced engineering classes at a segregated Virginia school and throughout the 1960s worked on wind tunnel data contributing to the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs.
