Sonia Sanchez Publishes 'Homecoming'

Philadelphia-based poet Sonia Sanchez's debut collection on Broadside Press used Black vernacular, jazz rhythms, and direct confrontation with racism and sexism. She became one of the founding voices of the Black Arts Movement and a pioneering figure in the Black studies movement.
