Black medical schools Meharry and Howard produce majority of Black physicians

By the mid-1970s, Meharry Medical College and Howard University College of Medicine together account for training the majority of practicing Black physicians in America, demonstrating the critical role of Historically Black institutions in professional Black achievement.
