Jesse Jackson Runs for President, Wins Several Primaries

Jesse Jackson's first presidential campaign under the National Rainbow Coalition wins primaries and caucuses in five states and Washington D.C., earning over 3.2 million votes. He is the first Black candidate to mount a serious, sustained campaign for a major party presidential nomination.
