New York Mets pitcher Dwight Gooden wins the NL Cy Young Award with a 24-4 record and a 1.53 ERA, the lowest in 40 years. He is only 20 years old, the youngest Cy Young winner in history, and is briefly considered the most dominant pitcher in baseball.
