Kamala Harris elected U.S. Senator from California

Kamala Harris won election to the United States Senate from California, becoming the second Black woman and the first person of South Asian descent elected to the Senate. She would later serve on the Judiciary Committee and conduct nationally broadcast hearings before being elected Vice President in 2020.
