Ayanna Pressley elected to Congress as first Black woman from Massachusetts

Ayanna Pressley was elected to represent Massachusetts's 7th congressional district, becoming the first Black woman elected to Congress from the state of Massachusetts. She joined Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib to form the group known as The Squad, four first-term progressive congresswomen who commanded major national media attention.
