Donald Glover released This Is America as Childish Gambino, accompanied by a Hiro Murai–directed video that became one of the most analyzed music videos in history for its depiction of violence against Black Americans. The song won the Grammy Awards for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year—the first hip-hop song to win in those categories.
