Booker T. Washington published 'My Larger Education' in 1911, articulating his philosophy of industrial self-improvement and practical advancement for Black Americans. As principal of Tuskegee Institute, Washington continued to wield enormous influence over Black educational funding, political patronage, and economic development through the Tuskegee Machine until his death in 1915.
