Bryan Stevenson publishes Just Mercy

Stevenson's memoir about his work defending death row inmates through the Equal Justice Initiative became a bestseller and is now one of the most widely assigned books in American law schools and high schools. Adapted into a major film in 2019, it drove public understanding of racial bias in the criminal justice system.
