Carter G. Woodson Publishes "The Mis-Education of the Negro"

Historian Carter G. Woodson published this landmark work arguing that the American education system had conditioned Black Americans to see themselves through a white lens and to devalue their own history, culture, and community. The book became a foundational text of Black intellectual thought and remains widely read and cited today.
