Eddie Tolan Wins Two Gold Medals at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics

Detroit sprinter Eddie Tolan became the first Black athlete to win two Olympic gold medals, taking both the 100m and 200m at the Los Angeles Games. His victories, achieved before a home American crowd, challenged racial hierarchies in sport and foreshadowed the era of Jesse Owens.
