Jubilee Hall Built at Fisk University with Concert Tour Proceeds

Fisk University completes Jubilee Hall, a permanent brick building funded entirely by the Fisk Jubilee Singers' international concert tours. The $150,000 raised through performances for Queen Victoria, European royalty, and American audiences transformed a struggling freedpeople's school into an enduring institution. Jubilee Hall was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1975.
