Isabel Wilkerson publishes The Warmth of Other Suns
Wilkerson's epic narrative history of the Great Migration, following three individuals who left the Jim Crow South over six decades, won the National Book Critics Circle Award and is considered the definitive account of one of America's most transformative demographic movements. She was the first Black woman to win a Pulitzer Prize in journalism (1994) and this book extended that legacy.
