John Marrant Ordained and Begins Ministry Among Black Loyalists in Nova Scotia

John Marrant, a free Black South Carolinian whose 1785 Narrative was the second book published by a Black American, was ordained a Huntingdonian minister in London and sent as a missionary to Nova Scotia's Black Loyalist community. His journal documents one of the earliest sustained Black missionary ministries in North America.
