Ntinu Wene Founds the Kongo Kingdom
Ntinu Wene unifies the Bakongo peoples south of the Congo River and establishes the Kongo Kingdom, centered at Mbanza Kongo. The kingdom develops a sophisticated bureaucratic structure with provinces governed by appointed nobles, a standing army, and long-distance trade networks that make it the dominant political entity in Central Africa by the 15th century.
