Booker T. Washington founds the National Negro Business League
Booker T. Washington convened the founding meeting of the National Negro Business League in Boston on August 23, 1900, with over 300 delegates representing Black businesses across the country. The NNBL became the first national organization dedicated to promoting Black capitalism and entrepreneurship, documenting and accelerating the growth of Black-owned enterprises during the nadir of American race relations.
