Ralph Metcalfe Wins Olympic Medals in Los Angeles
Marquette University sprinter Ralph Metcalfe won a silver medal in the 100m and a bronze in the 200m at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, establishing himself as one of the fastest men in the world alongside Eddie Tolan. Metcalfe would go on to compete again at the 1936 Berlin Olympics and later became a U.S. Congressman, representing a trajectory from athletic to political excellence.
