Thelonious Monk records his foundational bebop works for Blue Note

Between 1947 and 1952, Thelonious Monk recorded his most influential early compositions for Blue Note Records, including 'Round Midnight, Straight, No Chaser, and Mysterioso. These recordings established Monk as one of the most original composers in jazz history and helped define the bebop era. He later became the second jazz musician to appear on the cover of Time magazine, and his compositions are among the most performed in jazz.
