Ida B. Wells Tours Britain to Build International Anti-Lynching Pressure

Ida B. Wells toured Britain twice (1893 and 1894) to build international pressure against American lynching, reaching church groups, labor unions, and journalists and generating widespread British condemnation. She helped found the Society for the Recognition of the Brotherhood of Man. Southern newspapers responded with outrage, demonstrating the effectiveness of her international strategy.
