Wilt Chamberlain Arrives at the University of Kansas
Wilt Chamberlain enrolled at the University of Kansas in 1956 and immediately became the most dominant college basketball player ever seen, averaging over 30 points per game and leading Kansas to the 1957 NCAA Championship game. His recruitment was a landmark moment when many historically white universities still excluded Black athletes. Chamberlain's college career announced the arrival of a player who would go on to rewrite the NBA record books and transform professional basketball.
