Angela Davis Acquitted of All Charges by All-White Jury

After 16 months in jail awaiting trial, Angela Davis was acquitted on all murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy charges by an all-white jury in San Jose, California. The international 'Free Angela Davis' campaign drew solidarity from dozens of countries. Her case became a symbol of state repression of Black radical activists.
