Southern States Disband and Disarm Black Militia Units

Southern state governments disband Black militia companies organized during Reconstruction, confiscate their weapons, and pass laws restricting Black firearms access. White rifle clubs that committed Reconstruction-era massacres are simultaneously reorganized and equipped. The disarmament eliminates the last institutional capacity for Black self-defense against mob violence.
