National Black Political Assembly Meets for Second Convention

The second National Black Political Assembly convened in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1974, continuing the coalition launched at the 1972 Gary Convention. The assembly debated electoral strategy versus independent Black political organization. Tensions between electoral Democrats and Black nationalists began fragmenting the coalition that the Gary Convention had assembled.
