State of Black America Reports Document Widening Inequality

The National Urban League's annual State of Black America reports throughout the 1990s documented persistent and growing racial economic disparities. The 1995 report introduced the Equality Index showing Black Americans at 70 cents of economic equality for every white dollar. Reports detailed disparities in income, homeownership, healthcare, and education. John Jacob and Hugh Price led the organization during the decade.
