- October 16, 1995Louis Farrakhan organizes the Million Man March
Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan organized the Million Man March on Washington on October 16, 1995, drawing an estimated 400,000 to 1 million Black men in what became one of the largest political gatherings in American history. The march called for Black unity, personal responsibility, and atonement, and sparked nationwide conversations about Black male identity and community leadership.
